Vanderbilt University, The Precisionists and their partners to create 500 Neurodiverse Employment Careers in Nashville
NASHVILLE, TN (September 19, 2023) The Precisionists, Inc. (TPI), a Wilmington, Delaware-based company focused on delivering world-class service to its clients through best practices and proactive engagement of its talented neurodiverse and neurotypical consultants, announces the expansion of its neurodiversity employment program in Nashville, Tennessee.
Since entering the Nashville market pre-COVID, TPI has partnered with several organizations locally, like UBS, Vanderbilt University, and the Vanderbilt University Frist Center for Autism and Innovation, by delivering IT and business support services to these organizations. In 2018 TPI opened an Innovation and Technology Center (ITC), located at One Vantage Way, in the Metro Center area of Nashville. This move has expanded the opportunity to support additional Nashville companies, and provide hundreds of career opportunities for neurodiverse job-seekers. Over the past year, TPI has added Cat Financial, HCA Healthcare and Dollar General to the list of partner clients utilizing their IT and business services offerings.
The Precisionists’ innovative neurodiverse employment model has a 94% retention rate after a year of employment for its neurodiverse workforce, many of whom are finally building meaningful careers after years of rejection and lost opportunities.
“Tennessee is leading the nation in job creation, and we thank The Precisionists for their commitment to creating over 500 positions for neurodiverse job seekers in Nashville,” said Gov. Bill Lee. “Partnerships with UBS and Vanderbilt have led to more opportunities with top-notch corporations like HCA Healthcare, Cat Financial, and Dollar General and will ensure an innovative, thriving workforce for years to come.”
“Today The Precisionists and our valued partners like, UBS, Vanderbilt University, HCA Healthcare, Cat Financial, and Dollar General, are committing to working with the Middle Tennessee community to create 500+ neurodiverse careers in the Music City. We will accomplish this through a community-based approach, which engages individuals, who up to now, have experienced an 80% under or unemployment rate,” said The Precisionists CEO Ernie Dianastasis.
“Vanderbilt is delighted to continue our partnership with The Precisionists,” Vanderbilt Chancellor Daniel Diermeier said. “The research and solutions coming out of our Frist Center, plus our overarching commitment to diversity, belonging and being an innovative workplace, make collaborating with The Precisionists a natural fit.”
“The Frist Center for Autism & Innovation at Vanderbilt is a first-of-its-kind academic research center focused on developing the technologies and business approaches that will lead to successful pipelines to employment for autistic and other neurodiverse people,” said Keivan Stassun, director of the Frist Center and a Professor of Astrophysics and Computer Science. “We choose our partners carefully, based both on a willingness to use evidence-based practices and a demonstrated track record of success. TPI has become one of our single most important partners, and we are thrilled that Ernie and his team have chosen to make Nashville a second home for their innovative model.”
“Working with TPI to bring neurodiverse talent into our organization has allowed us to leverage new perspectives to achieve business goals while furthering our commitment to creating an inclusive workplace,” said Cat Financial Vice President and Chief Information Officer Tyson Norman. “We look forward to continuing our work with TPI and expanding the program to other areas of our business.”
“We’re proud to work with TPI to help provide more employment opportunities for talented individuals in Nashville,” said Marty Paslick, chief information officer for HCA Healthcare. “We have already seen the positive impact of their neurodiverse employees on our organization and look forward to continuing our partnership.”
The Precisionists assesses, trains and employs neurodiverse adults to carry out project-based work, including software development, software testing, database analytics, cybersecurity, back-office accounting, data entry and auditing reports. TPI’s workforce performs these tasks on-site at client locations throughout the Nashville area or at TPI’s ITC in Nashville.
The Precisionists expects steady growth, as it has experienced in the other markets it serves. TPI plans to create more than 500 Nashville jobs for adults with autism and neurodiversities within the next three to five years. “With wonderful partners like Vanderbilt University, Cat Financial, HCA Healthcare, and Dollar General already in place, we have a great running start on creating hundreds of careers for this very talented, and virtually untapped, labor pool”, said TPI CEO Ernie Dianastasis.
