Press Release:
The Precisionists, Inc. (TPI) opens Innovation & Technology Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; expands innovative program that will create 500+ neurodiverse careers over the next 3-5 years
PHILADELPHIA, PA (April 4, 2023) – The Precisionists, Inc. (TPI), a Wilmington, Delaware-based company that creates jobs for individuals across a broad range of disabilities, announces the opening of its newest Innovation & Technology Center (ITC) in Philadelphia, PA. This expansion will create 500+ jobs for local adults with autism and other neurodiversities over the next three to five years. The ITC is located in the PECO building at 2301 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA.
Since 2018, TPI has partnered with several organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Region, such as PECO, Independence Blue Cross, Drexel University, Vertex, CAG Truck Capital, and DuPont to provide information technology and business support services utilizing the talents of its neurodiverse workforce. Opening this newest ITC in Philadelphia, will expand the opportunity to support additional Philadelphia companies, and provide hundreds of job opportunities for neurodiverse job-seekers. The Precisionists’ innovative neurodiversity employment model takes a community-based approach, which focuses on creating more employment opportunities for adults with autism and other neurodiversities.
“Establishing the TPI facility in center-city Philadelphia enables us to further expand job opportunities for neurodiverse adults seeking to start or grow their careers,” says Ernie Dianastasis, CEO of The Precisionists. “At the facility, we will perform both project-based work for our client partners, as well as assess, train and prepare our candidates for employment with us.”
“PECO is proud to welcome The Precisionists, Inc. to Philadelphia and we are looking forward to this expansion, which includes additional job opportunities for members of TPI at PECO,” said Michael Innocenzo, CEO of PECO. “TPI has been a longstanding partner, and we value their mission to empower individuals with diverse abilities. We believe in making a difference in the lives of others and we know that by working together, we can improve the quality of life for many in the communities where we live, work and serve.”
“Independence Blue Cross has enjoyed a successful partnership with The Precisionists, Inc. over the past five years. We currently have members of the TPI community working in various areas of the company. As an organization committed to advancing the cause of neurodiverse individuals, Independence is excited to welcome TPI to our neighborhood in Center City Philadelphia,” said Gregory E. Deavens, Independence president and CEO. “This new location at the PECO headquarters building will enhance TPI’s ability to match the needs of the region’s businesses with meaningful job opportunities for neurodiverse individuals. It’s a win-win.”
“The A.J. Drexel Autism Institute is the nation’s first autism spectrum disorder research center to apply a public health lens toward understanding the causes of autism and then developing more effective treatments, resources, and inclusive strategies for welcoming autistic people into society,” said Drexel University President John Fry. “Partnering with The Precisionists and applying their innovative hiring model not only advances our University’s teaching and research mission to help educate the public about the extraordinary skills that persons with autism possess, but also enables us to access the neurodiverse talent that can make Drexel an ever more innovative and consequential institution.”
“We are pleased to partner with The Precisionists to offer fair and equal employment opportunities to diverse groups in our region,” said Vertex President and CEO David DeStefano. “Our diversity and inclusion initiative takes into account people with different backgrounds, experiences, cultures and perspectives and we are proud to be an employer that supports this unique talent management initiative.”
“I am happy to Chair Select Greater Philadelphia, the arm of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, responsible for marketing the region in order to enhance job creation and job retention,” said Bill Sasso, Chairman, Stradley Ronon. “There is no better partner to Select than The Precisionists, an organization whose mission is to create jobs for those individuals who need help the most.”
The Precisionists assesses, trains and employs neurodiverse adults to carry out project-based work, including software development, software testing, database analytics, cybersecurity, back-office accounting, data entry and auditing reports. Until now, these tasks were performed on-site at client locations throughout the Philadelphia area or at TPI’s ITC in Wilmington, Delaware. This new facility will become the epicenter for neurodiverse employment throughout Philadelphia.
The opening of TPI’s Innovation & Technology Center provides greater opportunity for these projects to expand and grow the business with new clients and further provide employment opportunities for neurodiverse adults. The ITC’s office space in the PECO Building is convenient to public transportation, and located in one of Philadelphia’s premiere professional office spaces, well suited to cater to TPI’s additional space needs as it continues to grow.
With the opening of its new ITC, The Precisionists expects steady growth, as it has experienced in the other markets it serves. TPI plans to create more than 500 Philadelphia jobs for adults with autism and neurodiversities within the next three to five years. “With wonderful partners like PECO, Independence Blue Cross, Drexel University, Vertex, DuPont, Stradley Ronon, & CAG Truck Capital already in place, we have a great running start on creating over 500 careers for this very talented and virtually untapped labor pool”, said TPI CEO Ernie Dianastasis.
